Council moves to maintain under-used public bus service
The service, introduced on a pilot basis last May, is being used by an average of 25 passengers per day and there have been days when the bus had “zero customers”, according to town clerk Michael O’Leary.
It would cost the council €80,000 to run the bus for a full year. The aim had been to provide a service for elderly people and others living on the outskirts of Killarney.
