HOPES of saving more than 340 jobs at Castlemahon Food Company in Co Limerick faded yesterday.

The provisional liquidator told workers and more than 80 farmers who supply chickens to the company that he intends to wind down the company in the next five to six weeks.

Castlemahon Foods is estimated to be worth €20 million a year to the local economy in west Limerick.
