THE woman charged with keeping social networking site Bebo free from paedophiles and pornography is to set up a service in Ireland that allows users to report illegal activity directly to gardaí.

The site yesterday launched a system in Britain which allows users to report postings of a sexual nature directly to the police.

It was the second child protection initiative to have been launched by Bebo in the last week, under the guidance of its new head of corporate and social responsibility, Cork native Dr Rachel O’Connell.
