Town to party after locals’ Lotto luck
The man, who bought last Saturday’s winning ticket with a female friend, will share half the spoils of the e1.5 million jackpot with her.
Two years ago the lucky punter, who wants to remain anonymous, scooped €300,000 on the Lotto Plus One draw.
And to show the town that success hasn’t gone to his head, the man has organised the free party.
“It’s a good gesture and we are all looking forward to it,” said a close friend.
“It is incredible luck and Friday will be a memorable night for his everyone who has known him for years.
“We don’t want strangers turning up thinking they’ll cash in on the party.
“It’s only for people who know the winners well.”
Patrons of the bar will also be given drinks.
As for the man himself, he had just a few words to sum up his winning streak.
“It’s great to be born lucky,” he said.
“Once was amazing, I can scarcely believe it has happened again.
“It’s almost like a top-up from the second win.”
The lucky ticket was bought in Drimoleague’s Centra store.
“We are looking forward to having a party with the winners,” said Centra’s owner, Sean Collins.
