Opposition to steal limelight with ‘spoiler think-in’

A LONG and bruising general election campaign was signalled last night as the rainbow parties unveiled plans for a “spoiler” summit to clash with Fianna Fáil’s parliamentary meeting.

Labour and Fine Gael will gather in Mullingar next Tuesday in a bid to steal some of the limelight from the FF “think-in” happening at the same time in Mayo.

Similar tactics last year caused fury in Fianna Fáil ranks and resulted in something of a publicity coup for the alternative government grouping.
