A SLIGO man, described as a ‘State agent” at the Morris Tribunal, has publicly apologised for the hurt he caused the extended McBrearty family in Co Donegal.

Bernard Conlon falsely told gardaí that he had been threatened by two members of that family with a silver bullet if he gave evidence in a case against them.

But he said he “no longer had any time for the gardaí” and regretted what he did.
