TÁNAISTE Mary Harney was accused of being “deceitful” yesterday during a stormy Dáil row over the treatment of hepatitis C victims.

Opposition TDs said she had betrayed victims infected with the condition through blood products administered by the State.

The heated exchanges followed Ms Harney’s announcement that a new medical test, known as the Elisa, would be used to diagnose hepatitis C in future.
