HOUSES in developments are getting smaller while one-off homes are getting bigger.

Development houses soar

Houses built as part of a development have sprouted up, their numbers increasing by a third. But the houses are getting smaller, decreasing from an average floor space five years ago of 131.2sq m to 124.5sq m.

However, average one-off house sizes grew from 186.1sq m to 213.6sq m.
