Man’s death may be retaliation over spilled soft drink

Alan Barbour, 27, who lived in Larkfield View in Lucan, died late on Thursday night at Beaumont Hospital, where he had been admitted in the early hours of last Sunday.

Gardaí yesterday appealed for witnesses to the assault. In particular they are looking to contact two women who spoke with Mr Barbour and his companion just before the assault and also to three men, possibly from Eastern Europe, who were passing by at the time.
