CLASSROOMS across Waterford city are among the most crowded in the country, new figures show.

Classroom overcrowding increases

The number of pupils in classes of 25 or more has increased, despite several Government claims that pupil- teacher ratios are reducing, data obtained by Waterford FG TD, John Deasy, shows.

The figures, obtained from the Department of Education, show that primary school classrooms in Waterford city are now more crowded than ever.
