Top soft drink withdrawn after high levels of cancer-causing chemical detected

THE popular soft drink Diet Club Lemon was withdrawn from the shelves yesterday after it was found to contain high levels of a cancer-causing chemical.

Manufacturers confirmed that production had been halted.

The decision by Club to voluntarily suspend production came after research showed it had nine times the World Health Organisation (WHO) recommended level of benzene.
