Foreign national criminal gangs ‘a threat’

FOREIGN national criminal gangs pose a major threat to EU countries, including Ireland, according to a new report.

EU police agency Europol said member states face “overwhelming obstacles” in trying to dismantle organised crime groups.

This is partly due the growing international nature of criminal gangs.
