Nobody to blame, says Ahern

NOBODY is to blame for the self-confessed rapist Mr A walking free from prison, Taoiseach Bertie Ahern insisted yesterday.

“There is not a blame issue,” he declared defiantly in New York, where he was attending a UN conference on HIV/AIDS.

He insisted he was in no way personally responsible for the debacle and said he had “absolute confidence” in Justice Minister Michael McDowell.
