SVP: 60,000 social housing units needed

IRELAND’S largest charity has warned 60,000 housing units are needed over the next six years to tackle an accommodation crisis.

The Society of St Vincent de Paul (SVP) is insisting that clearcut and appropriately-timed targets must be set by the Government to deal with the country’s remaining social injustices.

The SVP is concerned by the apparent lack of urgency in addressing key problems faced by those experiencing poverty and exclusion.
