Poll shows increase in support for FG-Labour

THE alternative coalition of Fine Gael and the Labour Party last night welcomed the latest poll results as proof that the electorate is ready for a change of government.

A year ahead of the next general election, the Red C Sunday Business Post poll put Fine Gael/Labour ahead of the combined total of the Government parties for the first time this year, although the alternative coalition would still need the support of the Greens and perhaps some independents to form a government.

While support for Fianna Fáil dropped three points to 35%, support for the alternative coalition rose six points to 40%.
