THE leader of the country’s largest union, SIPTU, last night claimed he could see no way he could recommend a new national wage deal while controversy surrounds the decentralisation project.

Following a protest over the scheme at the Department of Finance in Dublin, SIPTU president Jack O’Connor said it was difficult to see an agreement from the talks with so many semi-State workers up in arms over being asked to leave the capital.
