FÁS staff threaten further protests

DISGRUNTLED staff at FÁS will escalate their protests, if promotions continue to be tied to decentralisation, union officials warned last night.

FÁS staff threaten further protests

Up to 300 staff yesterday refused to deal with phone calls or e-mails for the third time as they voiced their opposition to the agency’s planned decentralisation to Birr in Co Offaly. Pickets were placed at a number of FÁS offices yesterday including Baggot Street, Clyde Road and South Circular Road in Dublin.

The E College in Tallaght and facilities at Adelaide Chambers were also affected by the stoppage.
