DECISIONS on plans by Waterford and Limerick to extend their boundaries will most likely be made before the next general election, Environment Minister Dick Roche has said.

He said he is still awaiting the full details of Waterford City Council’s submission on the planned extension into Kilkenny but has met county managers in Limerick and Clare to discuss progress on the proposed boundary extension there.

However, he indicated the best solution might not involve extending boundaries but getting local authorities to work together better.
