Wanted: Flirty 30 to tend the Roses

FOR single men it’s the hottest date of the year — the chance to escort one of 30 sizzling beauties in this summer’s Rose of Tralee.

But given every woman has her price, there is a catch — the chosen few will have to come up with €2,000 in sponsorship before they can engage in their duties as chaperones to the festival’s fairest flowers.

Despite this not insignificant financial hurdle, organisers are expecting hundreds of applications from eligible bachelors to act as official escorts to each Rose during the spectacular.
