FURTHER planned automation of the postal service will further delay deliveries in Limerick, a Fine Gael general election candidate warned yesterday.

Cllr Kieran O’Donnell said the impending closure of An Post’s area office in Limerick city will hit postal services in the Mid-West.

“Already the postal delivery service in Limerick has deteriorated since sorting was partially transferred to Cork ... People find it difficult to understand why their post has to go all the way down to Cork to come back up again to be delivered in Limerick.
