Schools quiz finalists decided

In two tremendously exciting contests at the Kilmurry Lodge Hotel, Limerick, there never was more than two points between the teams in either quiz, resulting in very tight finishes to both.

In the first session, after being level at the end of round six, the Carlow quartet just held on to win by a two-point margin, while the Cork team finished very strongly in the final round to overcome their Roscommon opposition.

Results: Quiz Number 159: 1. St Mary’s College Knockbeg Carlow 94; 2. St Joseph’s Patrician College, Galway 92.

Quiz Number 160: 1. Colaiste An Spioraid Naoimh, Bishopstown, Cork 92; 2. St Nathy’s College, Ballaghadereen, Co. Roscommon 86.

The competition is in association with RTÉ Radio One and sponsors Apple Computers.
