Shortages in nursing ‘not tackled’
In a post-Budget statement, the INO said it was “disappointed and frustrated” the Government had not brought forward initiatives to address the nursing and midwife retention crisis as proposed by the organisation in its pre-Budget submission.
Speaking last night, INO general secretary Liam Doran said the Government would not be able to meet its commitment to expand the health service, particularly in the intellectual disability sector, as long as the nurse-drain continued.
