27,000 Dublin hospital bed days lost in six months

AN astounding 27,000 bed days were lost in Dublin hospitals during the first six months of 2003, Fine Gael said yesterday.

The figures came to light as a result of a parliamentary question submitted by the party earlier this month.

Yesterday, Fine Gael deputy leader Richard Bruton said the northside of Dublin was the most adversely affected, losing 18,000 bed days between January and June this year.
