Irish women the most fertile in EU, study shows

IRISH women are the most fertile in Europe having more babies than any other nationality.

Irish women are having an average of two babies, and last year almost a third were born to unmarried parents and to the oldest mothers in the EU.

The state also had the fastest-growing population in the union after Cyprus, a Eurostat study says.
