Irish support for EU constitution falling, says poll
Just days before the leaders of the 15 member states gather in Brussels to finalise the document, the poll shows just over half of Irish people support it. At 53% this is fourth last in the union coming just ahead of the normally eurosceptic countries of Britain and Denmark. It is 1% down on the previous poll six months ago.
The figures are not good for a Government heading into a referendum on the new Constitution which is likely to be called next year.
