The INLA is being linked to a shooting incident in north Belfast on Friday night in which a 14-year-old boy was wounded in the leg.

Teenagers have at times been shot or beaten in paramilitary attacks for so-called anti-social behaviour, but the latest victim is thought to be one of the youngest ever to be shot.

The terrorist organisation has not admitted involvement, but sources have said an investigation is being carried out by the Republican Socialist Movement, of which the INLA is a part.
