FIANNA FÁIL yesterday retained the chair of Kerry County Council, with the support of two Sinn Féin and two Independent councillors.

Listowel businessman Cllr Ned O’Sullivan defeated Cllr Bobby O’Connell of Fine Gael by 15 votes to 12.

As part of a deal between Fianna Fáil, the two Healy-Rae brothers and Sinn Féin’s Robert Beasley and Toireasa Ferris, Mr O’Sullivan will be Kerry mayor for the next 12 months.
