Government delays RTÉ licence fee hike

THE Government last night postponed the announcement of an expected 43 increase in the cost of an RTÉ licence fee.

It was expected the decision to grant the 40% increase would be made at yesterday’s Cabinet meeting bringing the licence fee up to €150.

But following the meeting, a government spokesperson said the decision would be made public in a number of weeks.
