Gloves off as Shortall takes swipe at Rabbitte

THE gloves have come off in the Labour leadership battle as Róisín Shortall strongly criticised rival contender Pat Rabbitte and his relationship with the media.

Labour members are looking for sound ideas, not soundbitesok, Ms Shortall said.

Labelling Mr Rabbitte the “media darling,” she said the media had unfairly swung in behind him, causing difficulties for other candidates.
