Brothers gear up for epic rally around Australia
Sean and Noel Curtin from Wilton, Cork, will be among the only Irish challengers in the Round Australia Rerun, a marathon four-week 10,000 mile rally around Australia in vintage cars.
Noel, aged 30, will be driving one car with co-driver Paul Sheahan, aged 39, from Dripsey. His younger brother, Sean, aged 28, will co-drive for experienced rally driver Liam O’Brien from Dripsey. Mechanic Daniel Devereaux, aged 27, also from Wilton, will travel in support.
Sean said it was a once-in-a-lifetime chance. “We are looking forward to the challenge,” said Sean.
It could cost up to €28,000 in total for the two teams to take part.
This year’s race will begin in Sydney on April 23, travelling through cities like Bundaberry, Adelaide, Melbourne, Canberra and back to Sydney on May 21.
