BUSINESSES withholding almost €7 million in unpaid water charges will have their supply cut off, a local authority warned yesterday.

Cork City Council has issued letters warning businesses their supply will be cut off from mid-October if they don’t pay up.

The council’s environment committee was told on Monday night that the city is owed almost €7m in non-domestic water charges levied under the Government’s Water Pricing Policy Framework.
