A 100-YEAR-OLD car, which has been painstakingly restored to its original condition, will again be seen on the roads of Cork and Kerry this weekend.

The labour of love has been undertaken by Denny Cronin, of Ballinora, Co Cork, over the past 21 years, believed to be the longest restoration period ever in this country.

Now, it’s all systems go for the Minervett, or Baby Minerva Type A, manufactured in Belgium by the Minerva motor company, in 1904. The car, purchased near Skibbereen, Co Cork, for £108, still has its first registration number, IF 131.
