A TOP hotelier yesterday revealed how his “crippling” insurance bill had rocketed by 274% in two years.

Francis Brennan, proprietor of the five-star Park Hotel, in Kenmare, Co Kerry, said his insurance costs now worked out at €3,000 per week when calculated for the time the hotel is open for business each year.

His premium was €37,000, in 2001, and €67,850, last year. This year, it has jumped to €103,541.
