Golf classic to fund arts haven

EIGHT ambassadors have agreed to take part in a fund-raising golf competition to develop a haven for artists, in Ballinskelligs, Co Kerry, on August 1.

The event is expected to raise more than 50,000 for the redevelopment of the ruins of a pre-famine village, Cill Rialaig, as a retreat for artists, poets, writers and composers of national and international repute.

Ambassadors representing Germany, Austria, Sweden, Canada, Japan, Malaysia, The Netherlands and Belgium will participate in the Ambassadors Classic at Waterville Golf Club.
