TAOISEACH Bertie Ahern and Transport Minister Martin Cullen appeared to be at odds yesterday over just how much the Government plans to spend on the country’s transport over the next 10 years.

Mr Ahern said in an interview with a tabloid newspaper that the Government will spend €10 billion sorting out our transport infrastructure over the next decade.

“We will spend €1bn every year over the next 10 years on our roads and rail network - the exact details will be announced within the next month,” he said.
