LIMERICK County Council yesterday embarked on a public consultation process to draw up new rules and policies on mobile phone masts.

A notice of motion agreed at the monthly meeting to amend the County Development Plan will set out a defined policy on mobile phone masts.

One of the members behind the new policy, Cllr John Griffin said the Limerick public can now have a say in overall policy on the location of masts as part of the public consultation process which will take place over the next two months.
