THE Greens mean business - that was the message party leader Trevor Sargent sent out to potential coalition partners last night in his opening shot to be part of the next government.

Mr Sargent said the Green Party will be good for business in any new government and the track record of Greens in Europe shows they can be effective partners in competitive economies.

"The best way forward into the 21st century is to build a clean green energy economy - the time has come for Green politics to take a hold of the decision making process," Mr Sargent told his party's annual convention in Cork.
