Crime victims urge support with CAB monies

CRIME victims have called for money obtained by the Criminal Assets Bureau to be directed into projects to support innocent victims.

More than €100m was seized by CAB last year was put into the Exchequer funds for general spending.

Members of Victim Support, a voluntary group which is part-funded by the Government, say funding should be increased for a number of areas including the appointment of advocates to liaise with families throughout an investigation or court process.
