National Safety Council raps judge’s ad claim

THE National Safety Council (NSC) yesterday rejected a district judge’s claim its TV ads of horror car smashes “are not working” in the campaign to reduce road deaths.

Judge John Neilan said no one pays any heed to the brutal images of people being killed by cars.

Dealing with a number of cases of speeding on the roads at Tullamore District Court on Wednesday, the judge said young drivers still think they are invincible.
