MOTORISTS travelling from Dublin to Cork could be forced to pay for tolls four or five times if a joint submission from the National Roads Authority (NRA) and the National Development Finance Agency is adopted.

But Transport Minister Seamus Brennan says he’s opposed to too many tolls. “They are talking about very sensitive places like the Lee Tunnel.

If they had their way, they would put a second one on the M50, wouldn’t they?” Mr Brennan said: “I can’t have someone driving from Dublin to Cork city paying four or five tolls. You are going to get huge resistance.”
