Island voters timing criticised

IRELAND'S islanders should not have to vote four days before the rest of the country in an age of improved transport links, a Connacht Ulster MEP has claimed.

MEP Sean O’Neachtain has called for the right of the islanders to vote on the same day as the rest of the country, after it was recently announced that they will have to vote four days before the rest of the electorate on June 7.
