ENVIRONMENT Minister Dick Roche has told Dublin City Council they should preserve the now dilapidated ‘last stand’ headquarters of the 1916 leaders in Dublin’s Moore Street.

“I feel the site is of significant historic importance,” Mr Roche said yesterday.

There were now just a few remnants of the 1916 Rising remaining and they must be protected, he said.
