Health, crime, and economy key FG issues

BUOYED by rising poll figures and the ongoing consumer backlash against the Government, Fine Gael TDs will today gather in Portlaoise to focus their election sights on health, crime and economic issues.

With Health Service Executive chief Prof Brendan Drumm the main speaker during the two-day event, Fine Gael is seeking to cash in on the Government’s health record as the pre-election jostling continues.

However, the party will not have the political field to themselves as the Progressive Democrats are gathering in Dublin today for their own think-in, with health the main topic for discussion along with justice and the economy.
