Police issue description of murdered man found near castle

GARDAÍ have issued a description of a murdered man in the hope of piecing together his final movements.

The badly beaten body of Derek O’Connell, 27, was found in the grounds of Blackrock Castle, Cork, shortly before 7pm last Sunday.

Gardaí have been keeping tight-lipped about a motive for the killing of Mr O’Connell, who was originally from Ascension Heights on the north side of the city.
