DEFIANT farmers furious over falling incomes are going ahead with tractor protests on the country’s roads from Monday, despite pleas from the Minister for Agriculture to negotiate.

The IFA, organisers of the nationwide protests, confirmed yesterday that tractor-cades will leave Bantry, Tralee and Ballina from Monday morning and will be joined by others during the course of the week.

Up to 300 tractors are expected to converge on Dublin city centre for a lunchtime rally outside Government Buildings on Friday.
