Homeless voted onto Simon board

TWO homeless people were voted onto the board of the troubled charity Dublin Simon at the organisation’s annual general meeting.

The pair join 10 others elected during a three-hour meeting on Thursday, called after a vote of no confidence in the existing board.

However, three of the five people who lost the vote of confidence were re-elected. The vote was taken by supporters of sacked chief executive Greg Maxwell, who will claim unfair dismissal at an employment appeals tribunal.
