Council moves to curb late-night drinking
In the face of growing concern about disorderly behaviour in the town and some housing estates, there have also been calls for more gardaÃ, an improvement in public lighting and a more responsible attitude by parents and others.
The town council recently decided to close off a laneway between two estates, following a campaign by residents to stamp out anti-social behaviour.
Independent Councillor Tommy Foley has claimed there are problems with late-night drinking every night of the week in Tralee and said he would be bringing a motion before the January meeting to help deal with the problem.
Labour Councillor John Commane said there was an atmosphere of fear and intimidation in certain parts of Tralee.
