Clarification

In an article in Wednesday’s Irish Examiner regarding an inquest of Edward O’Donoghue (otherwise Gillman), we wish to clarify the parents were not divorced.

Clarification

A decree of nullity was granted to Denise Gillman by the High Court in 1996. Such a decree can have legal implications for the surname of any child born to a parent.

The coroner ruled the deceased should be named on a death certificate as Edward O’Donoghue otherwise Gillman.
