Nurses’ pay claim vote could lead to industrial action

In a row over money due to nurses, the INO executive is seeking a mandate from its members to impose on health boards whatever action is necessary to secure pay increases.

The INO conference was formally opened last evening in Killarney, Co Kerry. The emergency motion has been tabled for today and comes in the wake of a threat from the Health Service Executive (HSE) to refuse a pay rise.
