PUBLIC health doctors return to work today following a decision by union representatives to recommend acceptance of a deal aimed at ending a 10-week-old dispute.

The settlement terms, proposed by the Labour Relations Commission and the Durcan Adjudication Board, include:

A recommendation that public health directors and specialists receive an 11% pay increase effective from July 1997, with a further 2% from July 1999;
